Welcome to the
Brighton Model Railway Club home page.
Due
to a major failure of the PC that updates this site and the fact that updates
were still via a dial up link, as Freeserve websites cannot be updated via
broadband, the club has decided to join the 21st century and we have a new
website under construction!
The
new website is at www.brightonmrc.com
and is live now but in a very basic form.
As
from today there will be no further updates to this site only at the new
one.
In
a month or two I will put an automatic redirect from this site in place.
Regards BMRC Webmaster.

Brighton MRC was founded in 1971 and
celebrated its 40th birthday on the 7th of October 2011. We currently have
around 20 members and always welcome more.
Meetings are every Tuesday (except
Bank Holidays and the Tuesday between Christmas and New Year) from 1930 to
approx 2200 at London Road Railway Station, Shaftesbury Place (off Ditchling Rise) in Brighton, East Sussex, UK. The clubrooms are in what was originally the Ladies
waiting room. We have club layouts in 00 gauge and O-16.5 as well as a test
track which has N, OO coarse and finescale, EM and O
gauges. Our members have a wide variety of interests ranging from London
Brighton and South Coast Railway in O gauge through London & South Western
Railway in OO through to the Denver and Rio Grande in N scale and everything in
between!
Anyone aged 18 or over is eligible to
join, details on the membership page.
As well as
building and operating our layouts, we run
other events such as film and slide shows, quiz
nights, an annual competition for members'
models and an exhibition in November
each year.
London Road
station is the first stop out of Brighton on the line to Lewes. Services are
operated by the Southern Railway and run 4
times an hour throughout the day, reduced services evenings and Sundays.
Closest bus stops to the station are on the 5, 5A and
5B route in Beaconsfield Villas / Preston Road or the 26 route in Ditchling Road.
Services
are operated by Brighton & Hove Bus company. Both stops are just a few minutes away from the station
which is signposted.
